Great work students! We have received so many wonderful comments already. The exhibit will be on view until January 6th - we hope that you can visit! Included in the exhibit is the 2012 4th grade collaborative chandelier inspired by the VMFA Dale Chihuly exhibition (see earlier posts). Also included is a special 2nd grade installation, "Our Wish Column." Inspired by wish walls and wish trees, students wrote (and illustrated) a wish, hope or dream on a green post-it to share with all. Viewers are also asked to grab a pen and use a blank note to share a hope, dream or wish of their own as well!

Congratulations to all the artists for representing us in the community so well! Thank you to all the featured artists, families and staff that came out last night to celebrate our 2013 Art Show! It was a fun time. If you didn't get a chance to join us, please stop by and check out the artwork. The show comes down on Sunday afternoon. (See earlier post for details.)
Pictures to come soon! A big thank you to Melannie Huber-Cohen, Mary Jane Newbill and Lois Bryant (my mom:) who helped me prepare and hang the show! Wow! It is almost June. How did that happen?!
Please check out our newly posted artwork by 1st and 5th graders. (More fabulous work by all other grades will be coming this week as well. Look for Kindergarten bird baths, 1st grade "Home" clay frames with family portraits, 2nd grade Hundertwasser cities, 3rd grade still lifes and clay columns, and 4th grade fish prints.) We will celebrate the opening Wednesday, May 30th at 4:30 p.m. Please join us! We had a wonderful exhibit at the Virginia Center Commons mall from April 14th - 27th. The student reception was fun - thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. Congratulations to our 44 student artists!
I added a picture of my "take down" helpers (my daughters :) who enjoyed the work as well! At the end of May we will have our annual Short Pump Town Center exhibit. Stay tuned for details! Along with our recent West Creek opening reception, we celebrated two other exhibits. Congratulations to Jessie A. Her artwork is exhibited at the Henrico County School Board offices until March 2014. Congratulations to Anna C. whose artwork is displayed at Suntrust Bank throughout March.
